The alumni of the European Master in Disaster Medicine (EMDM) form an active network of individuals devoted to the educational, research, and health care aspects of Disaster Medicine and Disaster Management, and support the development of the EMDM.
The EMDM alumni share the common desire to bring together dynamic forces to create an international network of experts in Disaster Medicine and serve the medical community by supporting the development of disaster medicine and disaster management, in order to reduce the effect of disasters on the affected populations’ health.
They are enouraged to and supported in organising activities and projects aimed at enhancing the international cooperation in the field of disaster medicine, advocating for its inclusion in worldwide education and training programs, stimulating interest and fostering cooperation among healthcare providers.
THE ALUMNI NETWORK COUNTS 621 MEMBERS MEMBERS FROM 89 COUNTRIES , 6 CONTINENTS, WHO MEET REGULARLY DURING INTERNATIONAL CONGRESSES AND CONFERENCES IN THE FIELD OF DISASTER MEDICINE.
The EMDM alumni are supported in their career development by the organising universities and the EMDM wordwide network. They regularly receive news and updates about the developments within the Disaster Medicine world, job offers and training opportunities. They are involved in research projects and activities conducted in the organising and affiliated universities. Alumni also play important roles in the EMDM itself, where they have the opportunity to become tutors, supervisors and faculty members.
